Kunsthal Aarhus Book Club

Kunsthal Aarhus Book Club is a long-term initiative that explores book publishing as an artistic practice and examines the dynamics surrounding the production, distribution, and reception of art books. The Book Club focuses on publications by smaller, independent publishers who challenge unwritten rules, experiment with the book as a medium, and play with form and content to expand our understanding of what a book can be.

As an extension of the Kunsthal Aarhus shop, the Book Club regularly hosts talks, conversations, and events where selected publishers present their work. These gatherings offer participants the opportunity to engage directly with editors and publishers and gain deeper insight into the artistic, editorial, and practical processes behind the publications.

The project is organized by Sara Arroyo, from TAMBOURINE, in collaboration with Kunsthal Aarhus.
