Aysha Amin
Making Sense

Aysha Amin (b. 1996) is an artist, curator, and architect, educated at Aarhus School of Architecture.

Born and raised in Gellerup (Aarhus), she founded the art and architecture gallery Andromeda 8220 in 2017 and is co-founder of the food cooperative [Smag] a la Gellerup. Alongside her practice, she serves as a jury member for Realdania Underværker and works as an instructor and project manager for the architecture program for young people in public housing areas, Vi fællesskaber vores by.

She has been a correspondent for the French architecture magazine The Funambulist, co-curator responsible for the Aarhus section of Copenhagen Architecture Festival, jury member and co-curator at Forårsudstillingen at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, and has contributed several photographic essays to architectural publications. Her work has been exhibited at Den Frie, Fotografisk Center, Nikolaj Kunsthal, Art Hub Copenhagen, the 11th Berlin Biennale (2020), and the Venice Architecture Biennale (2018).

Aysha Amin is the recipient of the Aarhus Art Prize, Solo Prize, 2025, awarded by Kunsthal Aarhus, JP/Politikens Hus, ARoS, Godsbanen, and Aarhus Billedkunstcenter. Her first solo exhibition will be shown at Kunsthal Aarhus in spring 2026 and will later be developed into a solo exhibition at Politikens Forhal in autumn 2026.
