New perspectives on art books - every month!
The Kunsthal Aarhus Book Club is a new initiative aimed at exploring the intricacies of publishing as an artistic practice and deciphering the dynamics behind contemporary art publishing. We will focus on works by small, independent publishers that challenge conventions, experiment with form, and play with content, ultimately expanding our understanding of what it means to publish a book. Organized alongside the Art Book Society, the Kunsthal Aarhus Book Club will offer a monthly book subscription and host events where selected publishers will introduce their work, allowing club members to engage in meaningful dialogue with the editors and deepen their understanding of the editorial process.
Every month, a new publisher will be invited to participate as a guest in the Book Club. This month, we are featuring the Aarhus-based publisher *[asterisk], who describe their practice as "a broad publishing profile within a fairly narrow field." In addition to their involvement in the Book Club, *[asterisk] will be highlighted throughout the month in the Kunsthal Bookstore and the Art Book Society.
It's free to attend, but as seats are limited, registration on Billetto is required.
