We are wrapping up the spring 19 edition of the talk series How We Curate with Tine Colstrup, who is a curator at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, and Marianne Torp, who is chief curator at Statens Museum for Kunst (SMK) / National Gallery of Denmark. Among numerous other exhibitions, Tine Colstrup is the curator of the Pipilotti Rist exhibition, which is currently on view at Louisiana, and previous exhibitions with Hilma af Killing and Marina Abramović. For a number of years, Marianne Torp has been in charge of SMK’s X-Room that shows solo exhibitions by Danish and International contemporary artists including Sidsel Meineche Hansen (on view now), Judith Hopf and Danh Vo, among others. Both curators have worked extensively with solo exhibitions; an exhibition format that also will be the key concern of their presentations at Kunsthal Aarhus. This talk will be held in Danish.
At art institutions, project spaces and in the public space we see the outcome of curators’ work, but as visitors, we rarely get access to the practical and reflective processes that come before the exhibitions. In the spring of 2019, Kunsthal Aarhus introduces the third season of the talk series How We Curate and welcomes a new group of international curators, who will present their work processes. Like the previous seasons, each event consists of two speakers who are invited based on their mutual interests or working conditions.
