Do you dream of creating a solo exhibition in Mediebyen at the Port of Aarhus and a performative work at ARoS, as well as gaining national and international exposure for your practice? ARoS, Kunsthal Aarhus, Godsbanen, Jyllands-Posten, and Aarhus Center for Visual Art are ready to create a unique platform for your visual arts career.
Aarhus Art Prize Solopris celebrates the young visual arts scene in Aarhus. The prize aims to support young art of high artistic quality and the vibrant art scene in Aarhus.
Recently graduated visual artists who have completed their education at a Danish art academy or equivalent within the last five years can apply to be considered for the Aarhus Art Prize Solo Prize. The award is given to an artist with a connection to Aarhus.
The Solo Prize includes DKK 30,000 and a one-year collaboration with the involved institutions that offer the award-winning artist:
The exact process is organized by the award recipient together with the involved institutions, which consist of Godsbanen, Kunsthal Aarhus, Aarhus Center for Visual Art, ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum and Jyllands-Posten.
The award recipient will have part of the production costs covered. This will be agreed upon after receiving the award.

In 2023, artist Mads Borre was awarded the Solo Prize, and in 2024 the award went to Tora Schultz.
